OPENING NIGHT PRIVATE SCREENING AND AFTER PARTY

Film: The 2012 Washington West Film Festival will open with a private screening of The Keenan Kampa Story, directed by Ken Ferguson (Executive Producer of March of the Penguins). This is the story of Keenan Kampa's improbable journey to become to first-ever American to join the Mariinsky Ballet. From the Conservatory Ballet in Reston, Virginia to the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, Keenan's story inspires; it's about the goodness that can be realized when we refuse to give into our fears; it's a portrait of grit and resiliency in the face of adversity.

Production Note: The Keenan Kampa Story is a documentary Director's Cut; an in-process film project currently being used to promote the production of a feature length narrative major motion picture. Director Ken Ferguson will be in attendance, as well as additional personalities from the film.
